Using SciTE4AutoHotkey Portable

Thanks for developing this portable app. I just want to make sure I have it set up to use it.
My guess as to use is to download and install the portable AutoHotkey app and then download and install the SciTE plugin and when I open SciTE from the menu it will recognize AutoHotkey. Is that true or will opening AutoHotkey automatically have SciTE available as a plug in? Please advise.

Thanks
Jojo

I know what you are trying to

I know what you are trying to say. Unfortunately it is not possible to open SciTE4AHK in the menu because it has no launcher. So you either make an shortcut in the AutoHotkeyPortable folder or open it manuelly in App/AutoHotkey/SciTE .
Does anybody know how to make a launcher for a plugin?

As it is designed for AutoHotkey you can run your script within SciTE. The option to run .ahk files with AutoHotkey or edit them with SciTE4AHK will be available if the menu's built-in fileassociation is ready.
Well you can make it for your desktop but it will not be portable Wink

SciTE will only recognise AutoHotkey.exe, so if you are using 64-bit operating system you have to rename AutoHotkey64.exe to AutoHotkey.exe . Before that you have to rename AutoHotkey.exe or move it to somewhere else.
I won't do that if you want to use it portable on different OS types.

I hope that answeres your questions...

Edit: I found an mistake in the current DT2. Stay tuned for DT3 Smile

In order for a fully functional SciTE4Ahk with the updated AutoHotkey and AutoHotkey_ L releases pay attention to the new Installation Notes!

Initial comments, I'll be back to be more thourough

• Your AutoHotkey_L DevTest installs to AutoHotKey_LPortable but this plugin installer DevTest expects it to be in AutoHotKeyPortable.

• The 'SciTE4AutoHotkeyPortable.exe' Launcher should not be in the base PortableApp unless SciTE4AutoHotkey is included in it. If it's to be a plugin, then the Plugin Installer should add the Launcher.

• You state in the opening post of this thread that this is "for dansmith65's AutoHotkey_L Portable". This is why I thought that is was made for "an outdated Dev Test".

Cool

Sorry I didn't get back to this sooner (why does life always get busy as soon as you tell someone you'll do something?), but in making it a separate, 'standalone' PortableApp which simply relies on another PortableApp to deliver full functionality you've covered all of my previously mentioned issues with it, and it's also more in line with what the Official PA.c Apps do. (e.g. the PA.c Launcher requires NSIS Portable & LibreOffice Portable will use jPortable for the features that need Java)

Edit: I would recommend keeping your PackageVersion a little further away from your DisplayVersion, as a DT2 now would instantly be fully caught up with the Base App's version, a DT3 would push it beyond that, and were it to be officially released at either of those points (or beyond) the version numbers would be noticeably out of sync.
Also, I have noticed that other people do this sometimes, and sometimes it is necessary, but I really don't think that the 'software license' for this needs to be treated as a EULA.

Is there an english version of the page?

Hi:
I checked out the GitHub link for SciTE4AutoHotkey-Plus. The GitHub page is in Chinese, so I couldn't read it. Is there and English version and also, can you summarize what the plus provides over the base SciTE4AutoHotKey base application. Thanks
Jojo

New Error

If anybody is here because of the new error that pop's up when starting SciTE4AutoHotkey, it is due to the source website being shut down.

Manually editing the following file will solve your problem:
\PortableApps\SciTE4AutoHotkeyPortable\App\SciTE\tools\SciTEUpdate.ahk

Change line 11 from:
baseurl = http://fincs.ahk4.net/scite4ahk
to:
baseurl =
