For a while a K-Meleon browser, once a quality lightweight Gecko engine based browser that existed as an alternative to FF, was not updated and thus abandoned. However recently (this year) the development seems to have sparked again and last month they released a stable version to bring back this old browser to the light again. I only found about this today and am very excited to see this happen.

For Portableapps.com now has several "webkit" engine based browsers but only FF (and its close brother seamonkey) for gecko engine browser users, it'd be very good for PA to add a gecko engine browser to broaden user choice. K-Meleon browser is a quality application without considering such implication, too.
The application is Win32 only and smaller than major browsers(
first peek on a clean VM it does look like it could be easy have not looked at total regshot yet of course will depend on the license etc but could be of interest?

I was considering taking this on, though if you want to you're welcome to (I'll test it for you.:-)), but I was going to wait a little longer.
When this was taken over from Travis Carrico, Pat.Ord waited almost 6 months for a response before posting a new version. I felt 1 month would be long enough in this case, but it's only been about 20 days since I asked if Pat was going to update it.
If Pat.Ord doesn't respond by October 30th I'll consider this abandoned, and in my eyes it'll be available for whoever posts a new version first to be the new maintainer for it, does this sound OK to you?
Note: I'll have to wait till at least the weekend if I'm going to do it, but you're of course welcome to go for it a little earlier if you want it.:-p

rather that I looked at it as requester had asked and that it looked do able at first glance which is what my impression was that he was asking so I was just conforming that it was looked at and possible so far I am not capable of a browser per-say as it has many more possible places to deal with than most apps so if you want it it all yours

If Pat.Ord doesn't get back to us I'll start looking into it at the beginning of next month, but if anyone else wants to take a stab at it before I get something out I'll happily help them out where I can.

Well, they are available there, but not yet here. Would be fine to actualize this website portableapps.com .
My problem is: i don't know how to actualize version 75.0 by version 75.1. It does NOT work in the way like portable.apps.com-programs, to copy the new version over the old version. All old settings will have gone then, already tried. Which files do i have to evacuate before (and copy back after) ?
