I just installed the Clearly addon for my portable firefox (it cleans up a lot of gunk that I don't want, when I save a web page as a file on my computer). I didn't actually want to print it, but simply to save it as a PDF.
Can this be done via portable apps?
Tools that allow you to 'print' from any app to a PDF are actually print drivers and must be installed on the local PC. Thus, they are, by their nature, not portable.
You can save to a PDF using many tools portably, though. LibreOffice Portable will let you open any document (DOC, DOCX, ODT, etc), spreadsheet (XLS, XLSX, ODS, etc), etc and save it as a PDF.
For web pages, you can install an extension like Print pages to Pdf or Web2PDF to be able to save a web page as a PDF directly from Firefox. Note that I have not personally used these, so can't vouch for them.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
OK thanks. I'll look into that when I get back to that work computer.
Print pages to PDF is a FF addon that does what I want:

Thanks for leading me in the right direction. I installed it on my portable FF and I was able to print to PDF and save it on the hard drive of that computer.
