How do you stop PortableApps while in the system tray?

This has probably been covered, but I couldn't find the answer. When PortableApps is sitting in the system tray(ie: active), how do you stop it? All I want to do is remove my thumb drive, but WinXP won't let me because it's being used.

Thanks for any help you can offer,
Scott Bringen

Menu?>

Do you mean the menu? You close it, with the X in the lower right.

not quite ...

What I mean is:
1) I left click on the PortableApps (PA) icon in the system tray.
2) The GUI comes up.
3) I click on the X in the lower right and nothing happens.
4) As far as I can tell, there are no menu options to shutdown PA.

Clearer, I hope,
Scott

What version?

What version of the menu? What OS are you running? Are you running any oddball interface stuff (like ObjectDock which is known to interfere with other apps)?

Sonce this happens on my home PC, I'll list common apps:

I can't tell the PA Menu version.
filemanager reports: StartPortableApps.exe 52K 11/18/2006
task manager reports: StartPortableApps.exe 9,764

WinXP Pro, Version 2002, SP2

OddBall stuff:
TweakUI

Scott

Hmmm

The only time I've see this happening is if another app has a hidden form set to always on top (which ObjectDock does). Can you think of any other apps you have running that might be set to always on top?

I'll check

I'm shutting down anything that I don't need running. Then I'll check the remaining apps. I'll take more time on this later (lunch is over):) .

Thanks for your help,
Scott

Let me know

Great. Let me know if you figure out what it is.

I think I'll add an on-top command to the menu as it displays to counteract this issue.

Same Issue

I'm having the same issue as the original poster and never saw a solution. I'm running Windows XP Home with the following apps installed:

ClamWin
Firefox
Gimp
OpenOffice
Pidgin
PokerTH
Sudoku
Sumatra
Sunbird
Thunderbird
VLC Media Player

I have installed the newest edition and the latest patch, and still haven't had success.
