unable to open files from Dropbox / Google Drive folder

Since update to version 4.1.4 and again in version 4.2.0 I'm unable to open files located in a local (synchronized) Dropbox and / or Google Drive folder on a Win7 system.
Last version this worked fine was version 4.1.3
Since version 4.1.4 I get error message that the file
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp\LibreOfficePortableTemp\temp\ab12cdef.tmp\ab12cdef.tmp
doesn't exist
Additional I get a notice that the object can not be accessed due to insufficient permissions.
Any solutions for this problem available?

Temp Permissions

Have you checked to ensure that the permissions on your TEMP directory didn't get screwed up? If I recall correctly, either Google Chrome or Google Drive was messing up permissions on Windows TEMP directories and breaking all kinds of apps. You can check by browsing to C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local, right-clicking on TEMP, going to properties and then security and checking permissions. Your account should have full control.

full access

I checked the permissions as described in previous post. They are set to full access (and all others like read, write, change, execute, display folder content) for SYSTEM, Administrators and the current user.
As every works fine if I re-"install" (unpack) a previous version of libreoffice portable (before 4.1.4) e.g. 4.1.3 I would assume that anything has changed within libreoffice portable from version 4.1.3 to 4.1.4 causing this trouble.

Nothing on Our End

There's nothing within LibreOffice Portable that would affect it one way or another. I doubt there's anything in LibreOffice itself either. I just saved and opened a document without issue to both Dropbox and Google Drive on my Windows 7 system and it works without issue. So, something else is up on your local machine that we'll need to figure out. Have you tried installing LibreOffice just temporarily to see if it works directly?

LibreOffice also fails

Now I installed LibreOffice 4.2.0.4 just temporarily. Same issue. It seems that something has been changed in LibreOffice from version 4.1.3 to 4.1.4 and up disabling to open ODF files directly from local Dropbox and / or Google Drive folders. Curiously e.g. DOC files are opening properly.

Nothing Generally, But Specifically With Your Setup

Remember that this works perfectly fine for me (and I'd wager others) for portable and local LibreOffice, so it is not a general LibreOffice issue with DropBox or Google Drive. If it were, it would have failed for me as well. I'd recommend continuing to search for issues with LibreOffice on DropBox or Google Drive in their bug database or reporting it if it is a fresh bug. I did not find any current issues in my check.

Solved: Encrypted Volume

Had the same problem with a file on an encrypted volume.
After dismounting and remounting the encrypted volume I could open the file without problems.
