Hi to all,
I'm new in this forum and I would like to know if the launcher can work on a readonly usb stick.
Many thanks in advance for any info

Launcher, yes, anything else possibly no
A use situation is helpful in cases like this.

To clarify, there is no official support for running the platform on read-only devices.
Some individual applications may be more tolerant of that, but there isn't going to be a lot of demand for that feature.
There are very few devices with a read-only switch, and even the media such as SD cards with switches are not entirely read-only due to the switch often being something read by the system, and not actually blocking writing.
If at first you do not succeed, use more sticky tape.
There is an option on "AppPortable.ini" located at "Other\Source" called "RunLocally". If you set it to "true", the launcher will copy all application files to a temp directory on host computer, even your data folder, and run locally.
You must copy "AppPortable.ini" with modification to the root folder where the launcher is located.
I seemed to recall an earlier thread suggesting there wasn't support, perhaps I remembered the details wrong.

We'd modified some of the early apps to work with a live mode so you could run them off of a CD years ago. But as it never caught on and optical drives died off, we stopped supporting it. So, the apps have changed a lot since then but none of the tools we added to allow them to run read-only have. That's why we no longer support or test it.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
