I have created a backup of my Firefox browser, using MozBackup 1.5.1. Previously, I have used this several times and transferred the copied browser to every new laptop and desktop I own - Without a single problem.
Some years ago I used MozBackup to copy by browser to my portable application of Firefox. I wish I could remember exactly how I did as I am struggling now. The problem I am encountering is, which destination folder do I choose in the portable version of Firefox to install the backup?
So far I have selected: Firefox portable > App > Default Data > Profile.
This does not work and I get an error message " Selected backup file was not found. Please select a valid backup file."

Thank you in advance for any help.
I don't think the FirefoxPortable profile is in the App folder
Try the: FirefoxPortable > Data > profile
Good luck
Hi,
Thank you for your reply.
I have tried both and still no joy
Your profile is in FirefoxPortable\Data\profile specifically. You can place another profile within there and it will work. Note that you can not include the random security code within there. So, a local profile would have your prefs.js file within APPDATA\Mozilla\Firefox\profiles\a6fg8sdgf8\prefs.js, with Firefox Portable, it would be in FirefoxPortable\Data\profile\prefs.js. If it is not exactly there with all other files relative to its position, it will not work. Also not that if your backup utility does not understand this and adjust the paths within prefs.js for your extensions as you do the restore, many of your extensions may lose data.
