7-Zip Portable is on the exact same version the 7-Zip developers themselves distribute and recommend.
We only release stable versions of apps except very specific apps that users need to help with new features of (basically only web browsers).
For something like an archiver, you should only be using the stable version. Data loss in your archives, as is expected with any dev/beta version, would be a huge deal.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
