Distribute Firefox Portable without installer

We want to distribute out product with Portable Mozilla bundled into it. Our goal is to install portable Firefox without installer. We do not want to change any sources (Firefox or portableapps) We just want to take folder with installed portable Firefox, zip it and unzip during our installation. So we have several questions. Can we perform such technique to integrate portable Firefox with our product? What about license agreement? Which restrictions will we have?

Not Permitted, Ask Mozilla

Modifications to Firefox Portable and redistribution are not permitted. PortableApps.com has a specific license agreement with Mozilla allowing us to distribute this modified version and it does not extend to third parties.

You can contact Mozilla to ask about your own permission. Be sure to give the details about what you want to change. They may ask you to do so only with your own compiled version without the Firefox branding. If you wish to change the homepage or search provider and keep the Firefox branding, you will likely be required to pay for it since that is how Mozilla makes money.

Thank you for your answer. I

Thank you for your answer. I just want to clarify - we need exactly portable version of Firefox. That is why I asked questions about license and permissions here. So could you answer which part of license restricts such distribution and what next steps we should do? As you told first of all we should contact Mozilla to get an agreement with them and only after that contact you. Because as we understand we also need an agreement with you to use portable version. Correct? Our product does not expand Firefox, it is a scientific product but we have a requirements to display the results in browser (IPython notebooks). We could not rely on user installed browser so that is why we want to provide portable version.

Trademark License

Mozilla's trademark license covers usage of the Firefox name and logos. It prohibits distribution in any form except their digitally signed installers. We have a specific agreement that allows us to make Firefox Portable. You can redistribute our digitally signed installers as well.

The MPL and other open source licenses apply to code only. You're free to compile your own version of Firefox and do anything you'd like with it. You just can't call it Firefox.

If you're looking to incorporate Firefox Portable into your product, even if you don't change a single file, you need specific permission to do so.

Have you considered making your software available in PortableApps.com Format? If you did, it could use Firefox Portable and the platform to self-update. And do a Python package portably as well.

License

Our software is not free. Wouldn't we get license conflict? As I told we need Firefox for displaying in-browser results. As I understood from your previous topic if we compile our own version of browser from Firefox sources and call it for example JustBrowser we can distribute it. We can create our own installer of JustBrowser and we do not need to contact Mozilla for permissions. Correct? But if we use Firefox Portable installer (or any executable provided with Mozilla name and logos) we need specific permissions from Mozilla (should we get a permissions from you as well?).

Have you considered making your software available in PortableApps.com Format?

We do not need that. We do not want to distribute Firefox Portable (JustBrowser) standalone - only bundled into our installer.
