Thanks John, all seems perfect now.
It launced now, but I lost my bookmarks. How do I get them back?
Neither revision installing altered the location of your bookmarks or performed any operation different than every other upgrade. I just went through the upgrade process manually to confirm as well. They're still in the GoogleChromePortable\Data\profile\Default folder. If you're not seeing your bookmarks, you may have accidentally launched it in local mode (chrome.exe running directly). Ensuring all copies are closed within Task Manager and then running as GoogleChromePortable.exe can sort that out. If you're having additional issues, please create a new topic in the forums as yours is a separate issue.
You should also have them as soon as you sign into Google and resync. Remember that you must sign into Google for the majority of Chrome's functionality to work right on an ongoing basis. Chrome, in local or portable mode, will reset your settings with no warning whenever it deems necessary. As such, you should always login and sync to Google to ensure you don't lose your data. Backing up regularly is a good idea as well. We include warnings about this on the Google Chrome Portable homepage and in the license page as you install Chrome to ensure users are aware. All of these issues are by design of the publisher.
