Crash Accompanied by Error Dialogue

Occasionally the platform will crash and I get this error.
"Cannot open file
X:\PortableApps\PortableApps.com\App\Graphics\MenuCategories\Other.png
The system cannot find the file specified."
It's certainly there, I've checked.
I have to restart my computer because the dialogue wont go away by closing it, another just pops up.
Sometimes I also get this dialogue box.
"frmDialogue
lblMessage
lblMessage2"
In a window with an okay button and cancel button, neither do anything.
Every time I reinsert the drive after this happen I have to do a scan and repair before it can be used again.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as this drive has all of my college work on it.

Missing File

That would be a missing/corrupted file. Try re-installing the platform over itself to ensure you have every file needed and that none are corrupt.

I'd suggest scanning your driver for errors first and making a full backup just to be safe. Sometimes portable drives will start losing/corrupting files just before they die.

I did that and the problem

I did that and the problem persists.
Every scan I have done has been inconclusive, they all say it is fine.

Update 4/12
I reformatted and then reinstalled PortableApps, and it seemed the problem was gone, until I was working on a report not too long ago and it crashed again.

Drive

It seems likely it is the drive or another piece of software interfering with the platform's access to the drive. I'd suggest a local copy of the PA.c Platform with a fresh install on it for comparison. That can help determine if it is the drive or something like antivirus interfering.

I've made a fresh install on

I've made a fresh install on another drive, hopefully this will work. If it does then begins the process of finding out what is wrong on the other one. Thank you for your help, I really enjoy the PortableApps platform and have been using it for years.

USB port

Another possibility is the USB port, so local can help too. The platform is unchanged since September so it may help to figure out if anything with the PC has changed recently as well. Good luck!
