What's the exact open source license(s) (BSD, GPL, MIT, ...) PA.c is distributed with? http://wikipedia.org/wiki/PortableApps.com (right-hand side) says:
GPLv2, LGPLv2, MIT License, MPL 1.1, wxWindows Library Licence
But I can't find any mention of these on the PA.com site. Or do the above refer to (some of) the software packages bundled with PA.c? If so, what license is PA.c itself licensed under?
Thanks,
Martin
The PortableApps.com Platform Menu is GPLv2 and uses a component that is BSD.
Just look in the "PortableApps\PortableApps.com\Other\Source" folder and take a look at the "License.txt" and "DirectoryWatchCopyrightAndLicense.txt" files.
This is correct. Keep in minds that this doesn't cover the graphics or trademarks. The PA.c trademark can't be used by someone creating their own package of the platform, similar to how you can't create your own version of Firefox and distribute it. The graphics of the menu (UI, chrome, etc except for specific icons) is trade dress and not covered by the GPL.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Oops, forgot that part
....will donate soon (as a rule I only give to open-source projects).
Should give to any project you deem worthy of your money.
It needn't be open source only.
If at first you do not succeed, use more sticky tape.
