With Windows 7: I'm getting No Sound from Exported Audio created with a mic with Multiple Formats (wav, ogg, mp4) when playing in VLC, Windows Media Player, WinAmp yet the audio plays fine when I play it Audacity Portable. Do I need the installed version to export the audio successfully?
You should check your systems sound settings because VLC, Windows Media Player, WinAmp use these settings , but Audacity uses it own separate settings. In Windows 8 the system sound settings are found in control panel > Sound , or if you see a speaker icon near the time/date then right click that and choose Playback devices. I am not sure what the sound control panel is called in Windows 7, but almost all versions of windows can do the 'right-click' if they have the speaker / volume enabled.
