FireFox Portable won't start generally

Hey there,

Following configuration:
- Windows 7 x64 (no admin rights)
- tried 2 different USB flash drives
- PortableApps app is up to date
- tried to install via app and manually

However FireFox does not start. No splash screen, nothing.
With one exception: At the end of the installation process, when you say start FireFox right away. That worked. Nothing else.

Where's the problem?

Thanks in advance.

Ok

First off you should be running the launcher, exe from within the root directory of the Firefox Portable folder not the one in the aps directory.
Second is this a home pc? Work PC? University PC?

What Antivirus is the system running?

Yes, I tried the ..\PortableApps\FirefoxPortable\FirefoxPortable.exe

This is a work PC, we have Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 as Antivirus.

Try

Deleting the Data folder in root of Portableapps/FirefoxPortable and then running? Perhaps you have added an extension that work is blocking?

The

data folder is empty as FF never even started, so I couldn't install anything.

Blocked

That means either FirefoxPortable.exe of firefox.exe has been specifically blocked by your place of business, likely within Endpoint.

Well

it seems to be something like that.
But I cannot imagine why our admin should block firefox. Every other app is running.
And I can't find an entry in Kaspersky that it blocked FF (forbidden: 0).
