Torrent Program - Tixati

I did a search but did not find a specific topic.

I would like to know if Tixati can be included in the arsenal of the PAL.

Tixati is a great program that allows IP block lists to be included and is a very stable torrent client, is safer than most if not all others and has no advertising as well as x64 support.

The app selection is growing at a very steady pace and to my mind; this would be a great addition to the selection.

Best,

P.S. The site is looking awesome!

No interest it seems but I

No interest it seems but I will say, Tixati do have a Portable version, albeit not in paf which is disappointing not least because updates won't occur without user intervention which is disheartening since with Windows 10 you can re-install easily using .wim files (win8 was buggy).

This is important because with Tixati having block lists built-in (no need for PeerBlock) it means you have to manually assign lists every time you install windows or come to another machine.

Surely someone in this place has an interest in this software and can be bothered packaging it or won't any donations flow from such an effort?

Tixati License

For a start, it's Closed Source software, with a Proprietary License, so even if a developer were interested, specific permission would have to be granted by the developer(s) of Tixati to allow a PortableApps version to be created by a 3rd-Party.

You could, of course, ask the developers whether they would consider producing/releasing a PortableApps version.

Thanks for filling me in.

Thanks for filling me in.

I think I will do just that.

PA.c is becoming better all the time (the menu that is) and while there are many things it does not yet do, there is becoming more and more use for quality portable software all the time, particularly since Windows is changing to accommodate this type of software more and more.

It's true that some programs leave traces, and that this is not nearly very well documented, i.e. no internal cleanup utility is provided but it's not mission critical as the installable versions leave the same or more traces anyway.

cheers
