It's a Java app isn't it. It certainly was the last time I looked.
Personally, I never use Java or Flash apps. They're the Devil's Spawn and should be completely erased from the internet and all computers, he said quite rationally.

Even Flash had its place once upon a time, but now it definitely should curl up and fade away.

Seriously, there are a ton of games and interesting animated comics and art online that uses flash. It's still great for that. Flash should never have been used for ads or full sites (I'm looking at you restaurant with a full flash site and your menu only available as a PDF).

Only as a PDF? EWW! I can understand having it additionally, for delivery or something, and have seen that many times, but having it soley as a PDF is bad form nowadays.

Why do you think OS X and iOS doesn't (yet) suffer from the plethora of Virus and Malware attacks that other systems do? Because Apple does everything it can to dissuade users from installing or using Java and Flash apps. But do I still use anti-virus software when on Apple hardware - Yes, absolutely. Has that top-rated software detected any suspect files? Yes, just once in the last two years and guess what, it was in a Windows download (a false positive on a Nirsoft System Utility).
Most of the reason for the lack of viruses on OS X is simply due to its small market share. Viruses are nearly always about money, which is related to how many installs you can get. When not about money, they're about fame. Which is related to how many installs you can get.
Viruses on iOS or Android are almost non-existent if you download from the real app store. If you jailbreak your iOS device or sideload apps on Android, though, it's a different story. Especially if you use 3rd party warez app sites like Cydia. Of course, some badware sneaks into both official app stores.
