Firefox 42.0 won't install/extract

Anyone else trying to install/extract Firefox 42.0? I double click but nothing happens. The pointer flashes for a few seconds and then nothing. Nothing is running in the background and I can install anything else. I have admin access and running as admin generates the same result.

Anyone else running into this? I haven't updated my portable version in a while so it may be something recent that changed?

download again

I suggest you download it again and try. There is nothing wrong with the copy, but it has to be complete.

I have tried several times

I have tried several times, changed methods, servers, all the same result. Is there a hash I can check the file with? I do not have problems with other downloads, I ended up getting a full version of firefox as that would install fine. Although I have also found other apps on portableapps that will not install. Peazip for example. I am wondering if there is a change in the compiling method that is making it no longer compatible with some systems.

Can't say that I have had any

Can't say that I have had any problem, upgraded and did a couple of fresh installs on new thumbdrives. This was on XP with SP3.

The MD5 hash is near the bottom of the Firefox page, https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable under Download Details. The copy I downloaded checked out OK.

Ah I missed that. I have

Ah oops I missed that (knew it had to be on the page somewhere). I have now checked the MD5 Hash with the file I downloaded, it is a perfect match. So the file is intact (as I already suspected), it simply will not install.

Antivirus

It's likely your antivirus. We updated a component that handles process analysis (aka figuring out if the affected app is currently running) as well as some other things. Some bad antivirus apps will silently block it without alerting you. Check your antivirus logs to be sure. Or try manually scanning it and then temporarily turning it off to install to confirm.

You can confirm it's clean using VirusTotal.com as well: https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/b8e8317937d1670aae75e111a2c5db4c88c75...

Nope it is not Antivirus, I

Nope it is not Antivirus, I do not have a active scanner running when I install software (that is just asking for trouble lol). I scanned it manually and nothing popped up either, so again I know it is not that. It is strange considering it is not just firefox portable but several portable apps from this site.

Well I found a way to install

Well I found a way to install it. And this is weird, I had to right click on it, go into properties, compatibility tab and check "run as administrator". Now here is the odd part, I was running in a Admin account and I even right clicked in windows explorer and clicked on "run as admin". I have never had to go into the compatibility and check the "run as admin" check box before. The "run as admin" option on right click of a .exe file always worked if it needed admin privileges. And most of the time a simple double click when in a admin account was enough, the UAC would popup asking and then it would start the installer. I still get that of course, but without the check in "run as admin" in compatibility tab nothing happens at all.
