Platform icon is hidden from tray on restart

I'm using Portable Applications extensively and use the Platform launcher to start programs, so in W7x64 I could make the icon to always show in the tray, but now with W10x64 I've done this setting many times with no success - the icon gets hidden after restart. Is this something that is impossible to do with W10 or is there a trick to it?

Thanks,
Volodya

External?

Is it on an external drive? If so, it's likely Win10 won't let you pin external apps. The System Tray is mostly deprecated which is why we recommend using the taskbar icon which is on by default unless you manually edit the INI.

No, it's not on an external

No, it's not on an external drive - I have it on my laptop' SSD D: drive. I don't recall altering anything in the INI, but never seen task bar icon I don't think. I ended up pining icon to taskbar, but it gives an annoying 1-2 sec delay after clicking.
How can I check if INI was modified?

Which Pin

By default, when the platform is running, it shows up on both the taskbar and in the system tray in Windows 7 and up. On Windows XP/Vista, it shows only in the system tray. You can manually change the INI file to alter this.
https://portableapps.com/support/platform#disablewin7taskbar

If you pin Start.exe to the taskbar, it will take a second to launch the actual platform. If you pin the platform itself (PortableAppsPlatform.exe) but have the taskbar icon turned off, it will do the same thing and take a second.

Many thanks for your answers!

Many thanks for your answers! I'll try your suggestion, but for now I did something I don't quite understand myself and it seems to have done the trick: I drag the platform icon from pull menu in the tray (where the hidden icons are) and dropped it on task bar (it didn' really do that) and after that the icon is always visible in the tray, even after a restart - all I wanted.
Thanks again.
