Running Apps

Good-day all, I hope this entry finds you all well!

With that out of the way, I'll get right to the point: Most of my Apps (run from USB stick) will not run. I have tried running them from inside the Launcher, as per usual, as well as on their own, from inside their own folder(s), with no luck; I'll get the Splash Screen of whatever App I'm trying to run, but it will not go beyond that. I've even watched the program(s) start in Windows Task Manager, and subsequently stop running...they simply disappear after a few seconds of running. (I'm running Windows XP Pro & Portable Apps Platform 12.2)

Can anyone help me discover the reason for this so that I may actually USE my Apps, please? I completely appreciate any & every attempt to assist me in this matter... Thank you so much, in advance.

Another PC

Try running them on another PC. Try running a clean app downloaded directly to your desktop. This will help determine if it's your USB stick or if it's your PC.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

John, if it works with a

John, if it works with a direct DL to my desktop, then it's obviously the USB stick...in that case, what might my next step be? (I'm thinking a simple reformat?!?) Thank again!

A simple reformat might cure

A simple reformat might cure this issue, but depending on the age of the thumb drive and its wear, I'd rather go for an exchange. Thumb drives don't last forever, especially those that are used on a daily basis as app drive. It's not only the degeneration of the memory cells from write cycles. Most drives simply suffer mechanical damage over the time (for instance: connectors becoming loose and prone to contact problems).
To be on the safe side, I always exchange my drives when I experience unexpected and recurring errors. Data loss is one of the most annoying things to come across.

John, this might actually

John, this might actually prove to be another Thread, but I've tried what you've told me (DL'd fresh to PC) and most seem to work...all but "AutoDrum"...I haven't seen it work yet. Any ideas here?
Thanks, again!
