Good morning,
When resizing the image window (with an image loaded) with the resize handle in the bottom right of the window GIMP crashes.
This issue is seen on a clean installation of GIMP portable, the issue is not seen in a normal clean installation of GIMP.
Anyone else having this issue?
Jasper
I am unable to reproduce this on a clean install of GIMP Portable 2.8.16 on my Windows 8.1.1 x64 rig. Could you please provide your full install path, OS version, 32-bit vs 64-bit, antivirus in use, and any other information you can think of, please?

I have this issue on a windows 7 pro 64 bit and a windows 10 32 bit machine both with a clean install.
Windows 7 has a virusscanner (trend micro) and windows 10 doesn't have a virusscanner.
@John, do you have an image loaded when you resize the image screen with the resize handle in the bottom right corner?
I've confirmed that this is a bug in GIMP's 32-bit build which is packaged as the portable version. If you resize an image with the grip to a certain point, it will crash consistently. It happens most often if you drag it down to where the taskbar is triggering a window resize. Your local install is not crashing as it is the 64-bit build (GIMP's installer includes both and automatically installs the one matching your OS).

Ok, so that means that we will have to wait until this issue is fixed by the GIMP team?
If fixed will you release a fix release of GIMP portable 2.8.16?
Yes, we have to wait for the GIMP team to fix the issue as it's not a bug in our code. Once they make a new release, we make a new release, as always.

Great, thanks for finding the bug.
In the mean time I found a workaround, replace the files libcairo-2.dll and libpixman-1-0.dll in the GIMPPortable\App\gimp\bin folder with the files from 2.8.14. Don't know what the consequences are but GIMP is not crashing on resize any longer.
Where can I find the libcairo and libpixman files mentioned in the workaround? I don't see any way to download 2.8.14.
XP home, sp3:
2.8.16 crashes when started, quite immediately. MS please notify us window at http://i.imgur.com/Rl65o3k.jpg. I have no chance to open an image, nor to resize a window.
2.8.14-fix does work.
I am using the installation windows to install with a different path. I do that with other portable apps too. They don't crash at startup.
I will wait for the fix to the other problem reported here. Hopefully, they will fix my problem too. if it is not the same issue all together.
Did you try resetting the settings on 2.8.16 if it's an upgrade by deleting the Data directory?

I installed 2.8.16.paf in a sub directory of the working 2.8.14-fix, and checked the `run it' at the installation finish window. It crashed in the same manner. Should I reset something prior to running it?
