[Closed] Process Explorer 16.12 install error

If I download the paf and try to run locally, gives error: "The installer was unable to download Proces Explorer...(ERROR: SendRequest Error)" paf MD5 = a20788e4f69aab121bfda6cc056b4cbc

If I try to add with the platform, gives an error: Unable to download the file. "This could be due to a proxy or network issue or the hosting server not permitting downloads from your location..."

If go to Process Explorer at sysinternals.com the zip file downloads OK.
MD5 = c46d435e670f8b3bb71bd701bbc9655b

Is this a network issue or PAc problem?

https

Windows may not be setup to download via HTTPS or may have a proxy breaking it. Can you download this within Internet Explorer?
https://download.sysinternals.com/files/ProcessExplorer.zip

I can install without issue directly with the installer and with the platform.

Note that this is the first time this app is using https to download its file.

No old IE

No not in IE with https://download.sysinternals.com/files/ProcessExplorer.zip

IE did work with http://download.sysinternals.com/files/ProcessExplorer.zip

Haven't used IE in ages Firefox didn't have a problem with either link. I'm on XP with SP3 thought IE was upgraded when I put that on but I see it is still on 6 !! I'll have to back up my files before I play with upgrading this old laptop. Normally use it online to avoid possibly infecting my newer PCs.

Most likely missing something from later IE upgrades. Went ahead a fired up one of my Win 8.1 PCs and it installs OK. So most likely a problem with the old XP machine.
Sorry, for the false alarm.
Thanks for the quick reply

Upgrade to IE8, it upgrades Windows networking components

You can safely upgrade to IE8 without much cruft. IE is an integral part of Windows, so any apps that use Windows networking APIs are actually using IE bits. That's why it's a good idea to upgrade to IE8 even if you never use it. IE6 can't connect to most modern secured sites. Upgrading to IE8 and then applying all further updates from Windows Update will get it sorted for you.
