Is there something that can be done about this given that in my case, disabling the anti-virus is not an option?

Report it to whoever your antivirus company is. From the sound of the alert, it's McAfee's heuristic detection (aka guessing), which is pretty bad in my experience. You'll need to report it using your software or via your company's subscription.
