Version: 5.1.1.3
Build ID: 89f508ef3ecebd2cfb8e1def0f0ba9a803b88a6d
CPU Threads: 1; OS Version: Windows 5.1; UI Render: default;

XP SP3.
Removed extra Languages when installing.
How to reproduce?
1. If there is no open document, File -> New -> Text Document
2. Insert -> Special Character...
3. Press OK in the fatal error popup window. This causes LibreOffice to exit. Popup window image at http://i.imgur.com/akkd8eL.jpg.
Had that problem with portableapps LibreOffice 5.1.0 too. Haven't tried a local LibreOffice installation.

I just tested LibreOffice Portable 5.1.1 set to English on Windows XP SP3 and it worked without issue. Please ensure your Windows XP has all available updates installed including IE. If it does, please temporarily install a local version of LibreOffice to test it there.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
