From memory, the license is way too restrictive (typical of Microsoft).

Person 2: What?
Person 1: I can't remember, I've forgotten.

Not sure about registry writes, but Process Explorer works perfectly well from my USB drive.
Also only 3 file, one exe, one chm and one txt.
So it works with PAM as well.

At my school, the registry is protected from edits by portable software, letting us know if one of our programs attempts to change it. Process Explorer on my USB is detected as a portable, but it does not trigger an alert, so I don't believe it affects the registry. Of course, this protection may not apply to Microsoft products...

Some settings are written under
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sysinternals
Also, this key is created (but only under an admin account :?)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_PROCEXP100
It works under a limited account but I guess some features won't be available then.
What features aren't available? It's always worked fine for me.

Well, perhaps features is not the best word. I only meant that from a limited account you'll only have access to your user processes. So you won't be able to see properties, kill or search into (find menu) system processes.
Ohh I see what you mean. Doubt that could be worked around. Legally speaking of course. BTW -- I've not had any problems working with system processes, except when trying to change them. Just what kind of guest account are we talking about here?!
