Updates and installation's error

Hi folks,
I don't know why, but i couldn't receive any updates because when i clicked on "Search Updates", the platforms says to me that the Updating process were yet on processin.
Since that i couldn't update anything, I unistalled it but when I've tried to install it again, it shows me lots of error due to errors in extraction.
How can i solve it? It's happened yet but i formatted the pc so this problem solved "automatically"...

Please, it's very useful for me, it's the best way to use portable apps and to have them updated every time.

Automatic

It should start automatically with the platform if you have it set that way (check the Advanced tab). Have you waited to see if it finishes? Have you tried turning that feature off, closing the platform, ensuring the updater closes, and then running the platform and then updater manually?

Yes I've waited hours, during the normal use of pc, but every time i tried to update manually it didn't work. To solve the problem i've deleted the main folder "PortableApps" with every sub - folder of my apps.
Now when I try to reinstall the app the problem are "Error opening file for writing..." and so many errors like this. So i can't reinstall it...
I've used Ccleaner to remove every file but after removed register keys and temprary file... but anyway it doesn't work

Drive or Permissions

That sounds like issues with the drive or permissions on the folders on that drive. Have you tried temporarily installing the PA.c Platform right to your Desktop directory on your local machine (literally to the Desktop so Start.exe is sitting on your desktop). Just temporarily. That will determine whether there's an issue with the machine or the drive/permission on the drive.

Don't Move

Try a fresh install on your Desktop directory and see if it works there. Do not move the broken install. If you made a copy to your Desktop, please fully delete the entire thing first. Don't delete your original of course.

As I said, since that i couldn't update, I deleted the entire folder "PortableApps" since we can't "unistall" it.

Clean Desktop

Ok, to be clear, you run the PortableApps.com Platform installer, select a custom directory, browse to your Desktop folder, and install there. Beforehand, there is no Start.exe, Documents folder, or PortableApps folder on your desktop.

It's the same...

Please watch this video https://youtu.be/wCwdJWd9gxk, it shows how the installation works, and this situation is the same in every folder or disk I try to install it... I hope now you can understand me.

BTW I should thank you for trying to help me Smile

Command Line

The installer you're showing is acting like it is being fed a command line. The proper execution of the installer is to show the language selection dialog, then the Welcome screen, then the License screen, then ask what type of install you'd like (New, Upgrade, Custom). The only reason it would skip that is if something is feeding it a command line argument. In this case, it looks like it's getting a pointer to an invalid directory. Is there anything else on your system that could be feeding it something? Have you fully scanned for viruses, etc?

For now, you can run the platform installer on any other system to upgrade your files and it will work fine until we determine what on your system is affecting the installer.
