horrible upgrade

hello!

I just upgraded and everything seems magnified and some login data that is autocompleted in some pages is lost
plus I cannot open links from thunderbird and in the address bar it doesn't always show the current url, but a previous one!

horrible!!!
is the portable team responsible for that or mozilla?

Extension, Theme, or Setting

It is most likely due to an incompatible extension, an incompatible theme, or an odd setting made in about:config whose operation changed. I would suggest switching back to the default theme and disabling extensions first. Be sure to update all extensions and then enable them individually to determine the offender.

Related Note: I recommend against using full themes (aka themes that alter the entire interface, move things around, use different graphics for icons and such, etc) with modern Firefox due to compatibility issues and due to the fact that they will be discontinued soon anyway. Personas will continue to work as expected.

I don't use any themes at all

I don't use any themes at all.
I use many extensions, how can I know which is problematic!??!?!?
I noticed that even ctrl+z doesn't work to restore closed tabs and the right up corner button that opens the menu with the options, addons etc is not clickable!!
this is a total destruction!!! can I switch back the update? and let me know when the update will be compatible and not mess my FF!
they should check their new release with ALL addons if they are compatible and when they release, disable the problematic addons until updated.
also, they should notify addon developers of new releases

also, FF doesn't restart with my last opened tabs! any idea what may cause this?

pie in the sky

ya, i know what you mean, but it doesn't work that way. They always, anybody, just throws out the update and then takes in the feedback, good and bad, then they do a minor bug-fix update. I've taken to not using firefox at all, but now I'm trying out Iceweasel, which is the same thing, really.
Right now I'm using Seamonkey. I use Opera for youtube, after first switching to Chromium and not liking that either. The damn smart-phones really mess up the internet cause all the money is there so nobody cares about desktop development anymore, except as a secondary thing. Plus all the damn websites are formatted for the stupid phones and tablets, it sucks.
.
But anyway, you might have to try a previous version of the firefox .paf, if there is one, and you would have to first uninstall the new version, though you might be able to rename the folder so the older version of firefox installs in its place.
.
Is there a mechanism in pApps for a rollback of an update to an app?

Safe Mode, Extension developers

You'll need to use safe mode to start Firefox up with your extensions disabled. You can do this by running FirefoxPortable.exe -safe-mode from the command line. Or by copying the FirefoxPortable.ini file from FirefoxPortable\Other\Source to the FirefoxPortable directory and editing it so AdditionalParameters=-safe-mode is set within.

There are tens of thousands of extensions and the Mozilla team certainly can't test them all. It's the responsibility of extension developers to keep them up to date. Unfortunately many developers do not. This is one reason Mozilla is switching to a new extension system later this year.
