Everything is up to date with my Portable Apps USB drive. Today I noticed Google Chrome is not running when I click on it. The USB drive light flickers for two or three seconds and that is it. I reinstalled Google Chrome with no change in behavior.
Every other program I try opens without problem.
Ideas?

Are you running XP or Vista? If so, it won't work anymore as support was dropped a couple months ago.
If it's Windows 7 or higher, try running chrome.exe directly within the GoogleChromePortable\App\Chrome-bin so you can find out what if any error message is occurring. Note that this will run in local mode (aka storing all data on the local hard drive in APPDATA) so use caution and clean up after if you're using a PC other than your own.

Thanks John. You nailed it in one. That had not occurred to me. Today I am working on the lone XP machine in the lab. That is why I did not stumble on this sooner
