[Closed] Lost extensions in SRWare Iron

Got the following problem:

When I move the Iron folder from one place to an other all extensions get lost, although they are still in the copied folder. I even can't activate them in "Tools > Extensions". It only says: "Boo... You have no extensions :-("!!!

Can anybody reproduce this bug?

Confirmed, May Drop

I've confirmed this. I also noticed that when you click to browse the gallery, you're taken to some random extension blog that has big Download buttons to install adware/malware/spyware. As a result, I'm unsure if I'm going to attempt to fix the bug or simply drop the app.

Would be so nice if you could

Would be so nice if you could find some time to fix the found issues.
Iron is known as the browser with the best privacy settings. Don't want to switch back to Google Chrome or Chromium again!

Not Anymore

Iron doesn't really have anything over Chrome and Chromium anymore. The unique ID was disabled a while ago and you can change your default search engine to something like DuckDuckGo with ease. That completely negates any privacy advantage.

Extensions Should Work

Extensions should work in the current release as long as you're logged in and synced.

Lost Settings and Extensions

Portable Iron is losing all settings, and extensions when moved from machine to another. It can be re synced using Google's sync. Not real portable if we can't keep settings and extensions.

By Design

This is by design from the Chromium team. You must be logged in and sync in all Chrome-based browsers. If you want true portability where everything keeps working everywhere, use Firefox.

Share extensions list Export for Chromium browsers

It's a problem of all Chrome-based browsers. I've been losing my extensions in Chrome, Opera 14+, Yandex.Browser, so on. But the nice news is that those 'lost' extensions still store your data, u just need to reinstall 'em, and the data will be recovered. I'm not sure about all extensions, but many of them do so. So u just need to use extensions like "Share my extensions list" (seems to be deleted from Chrome WebStore yet, but u can easily find the alternaives for it) to export ur current list if u wanna move to another machine, and then restore these extensions with the help of exported results.
