TODO:
I did a quick test and did not run into any issues so far, apart from triggering Windows 8.1's SmartScreen filter. Did you use app compactor?
This seems to be a nice addition for the App Directory. It's a very powerful painter and outperforms/complements GIMP in many ways. It's very responsive and has some nice tools.
Thanks for your work on that!
-edit-
I tried decompressing with app compactor and that triggered a lot of false positives on my antivirus (avira). Considering the size of the app, it could be a tolerable caveat. On the other hand, size is not a problem these days...
Awesome, glad to hear it.
I would've signed the code, but my free certificate expired, and I haven't yet purchased one to replace it.
From what I saw on the website, it is meant to complement both GIMP and Inkscape.
Yes, I used the appcompactor on it. With regards to the FP's when decompressing - was there any notifications when using the app prior to doing so?
I have now rebuilt using a dual-mode setup, and unfortunately I can't just include the relevant files, there's too many, so I have to include everything. It's going to be a massive app as a result.
In my opinion, this is an acceptable app for dual-mode, as the graphical nature of the app can certainly benefit from the use of 64bit when able to do so.
The false positives only occured when decompressing, maybe during this process the guard was triggered. There were no alarm durin install or runtime.
I've just uploaded Dev Test 2. See above for details.
I did a quick test and it installs and runs smoothly. I think it uses the 64bit version since there was no popup like with dev test 1.
Krita is now at version 2.9.11.0.

On the download page link above, the zip file said it's portable...is it really though?
Thanks for all your hard work.
I was updating this to the new 3.0 release and found out it crashes on me in Vista and 7 in my clean VM images. I'm unsure if this is incompatibility with the VirtualBox driver or not. Has anyone tried this on Vista/7 on a real PC? Does it force Windows Basic theme (aka disable Aero)? Can you create a new image, draw on it, and save it without crashing?
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
I only have access to Win10 natively, but I'll see if I can get access to a Win7 machine to test on.
Thanks.
Side note: If you'd like to try other versions of Windows, Microsoft makes images for VirtualBox available for testing IE that are licensed for about 3 months from being armed. They're a great way to allow testing on other versions of Windows.

That's where I get my VMs from. For everyone else, here's the link: https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/tools/vms/
It used to include VMs for XP, Vista and Win8, however it appears those are no longer available.
Yeah, it's just 7, 8.1 and 10. XP was dropped a while back. Almost no one uses Vista. Win8 users should be automatically upgraded to 8.1 update 1 (since 8.0 is awful).

Krita 32-bit is working on my native Windows 7 x64 without crashing.
Hello, I'm doing a quick run through the DevTest page and saw this. Seeing as it's released now, could we edit the title to say [Released], and add a link to https://portableapps.com/apps/graphics_pictures/krita-portable to the opening post, similar to other DevTests that have become official releases?
Thank you.
