Hello,
I can't seem to be able to automatically download virus updates (from withing the program) since version 0.99. Same thing with the latest version 0.99.1. No problems with with 0.98.7. I can also download manually the DB's and add them to the folder and the program recognizes them OK. Any ideas what might have changed in v .99 compared to v .98.7 that could be affecting the updating process?
It is BROKEN AGAIN!
We do not host the antivirus definitions or have anything at all to do with them. You'll need to contact the publisher for any issues.

ClamWin forum says it is NOT their problem ... and to contact the PortableApps Maintainers:

ClamWin is unmodified in its packaging. The only thing we do is provide a different default set of settings to have ClamWin keep its settings and database in a specific directory. The app itself has no changes to it.
When I said above that we can't assist with this issue, I mean that very literally. ClamWin has frequent issues with the servers that provide the updated antivirus definitions (both full and daily updates) being either slow or unavailable - sometimes for hours or days at a time - or serving corrupted/incomplete databases. The latter is what the error you received indicates. This is a technical issue on the publisher's end and something we have absolutely nothing to do with. It affects locally installed versions of the app as well as portable ones. Their servers are entirely outside of our control. I believe that, technically, the database servers are outside of ClamWin's control as well as it appears to use database.clamav.net which is run by the ClamAV folks upstream (ClamWin is a modified version of ClamAV specifically for Windows). I personally stopped using ClamWin locally for secondary scans due to database availability issues.
As a test, I fired up ClamWin installed locally within a Windows 7 virtual machine. The first time I ran it it failed. The second time I ran it it worked after experiencing a few errors. ClamWin Portable experienced the same along the same timeline. Typical connection issues show as:
One additional note... your specific error above could also be related to corruption of your local database which can also happen to the local install. You can reset ClamWin Portable's antivirus database by deleting the contents of ClamWinPortable\Data\db. You can also reset ClamWin Portable to its defaults entirely and have it download a fresh database by deleting the ClamWinPortable\Data directory.

Funny thing is that it works OK on another Win 7 machine, but not on my main one.
