I can't help but think that there should be more browsers packaged as a portable app....
So I've got a big long list (most of the browsers I have actually downloaded and tested, but some I have not)
So here it goes:
First off, we have gecko based (firefox based) browsers:
K-meleon
open source
http://kmeleonbrowser.org/
fast, customizable browser
Pale moon

https://www.palemoon.org/
fully customizable browser based on Mozilla Firefox code
Comodo Icedragon

And here are some chromium based (chrome based) browsers:

Here are some miscellaneous browsers that do not fall into a specific category:
Lunascape

Special web browser that integrates all three rendering engines (blink, trident, and gecko) into one browser
Avant browser
NOT open source
http://www.avantbrowser.com/
Special web browser that integrates all three rendering engines (blink, trident, and gecko) into one browser
Sleipnir browser
NOT open source
http://www.fenrir-inc.com/us/sleipnir/
Beautiful-looking browser that is based on the blink engine; very pleasing to the eye
That's it for now; that should keep you guys busy~
More will be added soon
Most of those are barely used. Many are just me-too chromium or Firefox based browsers with no compelling features. Some like the comodo browsers are insecure because they're not updated to the latest version of chromium so they have major vulnerabilities. Some like baidu have inherent issues due to their internet location (China used the great firewall of China to weaponize some aspects of baidu to attack github previously).

Not even Vivaldi or lunascape or avant?
Those three are great.....
I love PortableApps! ❤❤❤
Vivaldi is a beta, so we wouldn't release it in the app store yet. We dropped a note to them about working together and never heard back. Their current "portable" mode is not portable.
Lunascape and Avant seem like basically the same thing. The odd trick of 3x the engines must be better. It just makes for a big clunky browser with tacked-on features that you can get in Chrome or Firefox as extensions that will work better and be updated more often.

It's released and kinda opensource now.
Note, too, that Vivaldi is most definitely NOT "based on opera presto code" but is Chromium/Blink-based - with, possibly, everything that implies for true portability with retention of profile when not wishing to sign-in.
Vivaldi team has made its first stable release on April, 7th. Does it change anything regarding portability?
Like all Chrome-based browsers, Vivalidi is not portable. Even it's "portable" option loses stuff like passwords as you move around and leaves things behind. In browsers like Opera (which also loses passwords) you can sync to Opera to recover them on each PC. Vivaldi has no sync features so you just lose a bunch of stuff as you move PCs. Even all the work we put into Google Chrome only makes it just barely mostly portable (and you still need to login to sync or you lose data) unlike something like Firefox which is fully and truly portable. Additionally, I have contacted the publisher twice about a portable package and not heard back, so it seems they are uninterested.

Latest Vivaldi snapshot has Sync feature.
Could we expect it soon?
At the other hand,
the Opera version is coworked with Opera?
Thank you.
I'm an addict to. Like trying and using different browsers for different tasks. Most notably, I'm interested in Brave and Vivaldi. Here's a nice interview with Vivaldi founder, previously co-founder and CEO of Opera Software, Jon von Tetzchner: https://lpxshow.com/lpx-episode-6-vivaldi-is-a-web-browser-for-power-users/
I understand lesser used browsers are lesser used than the more popular ones, but all in all the browser as a category is one of the most used piece of software our times.
We asked Vivaldi and they said no. Their current portable browser isn't portable. You'll lose all your extensions and passwords as you move PCs as you do with every Blink/Chrome-based browser by design.

Ok,
Thanks.
I think the chrome one are good they should do it. i dont think anybody uses firefox in my area because its too slow.

Firefox and Chrome have similar performance now that Firefox Quantum is live. Firefox beats Chrome in some benchmarks. Chrome beats Firefox in some benchmarks. Firefox generally feels faster than Chrome now with the new UI. And it uses fewer resources.

I agree, Firefox (version 58+) now feels very fast
On my laptop it beats other major browsers by a small but noticeable margin.
