I would appreciate better version control also.
Ideally, I would be able to:
a) Go to one page here at PortableApps.com, and see at a glance the latest version number for every application I use.
b) Go to my Portable Apps Menu, and call up a window that would show the version number of all Portable Apps present in the menu. (Including the version number for the menu itself, which I don't think you can find at present anywhere other than the file properties of the .EXE itself.)
Then I could check them all for updates, all at once, with a minimum of hunting and clicking and scribbling numbers on note-paper.
