I use the PortableApps.com Platform mainly to use fonts without Administrator privileges, as well as a few minor games. As this is the only use for me, I have no use for getting new apps most of the time. However, the Platform asks me about new apps every startup. Is there any way to disable the process and only ask about new apps when I tell it to?
Thanks
It's in options under advanced.
When it automatic mode, it will only notify you if apps are out of date. If none are, it's completely silent.

I was not able to find this option. Could you screenshot?
Click the Options icon in the PortableApps.com Platform menu, click the Advanced tab, it's in the upper left.

This only disables checking for updates, not checking new apps.
Oh, you mean no apps installed? If so, you basically need to install at least one app. The point of the platform is to be able to use portable software, so it assumes if you have no apps that it is a new install and you need some apps. For now, just install any app at all and it will never ask again. On-Screen Keyboard Portable is one of the smallest and rarely updated. Or any game at all.

Thanks, this worked. I was hoping not needing to install an app, but i guess this is fine.
I'm not sure, but I think you can hide that single app and it won't ask again if you'd rather not see it. You can show it again under the Apps submenu.
