Updated to 2.7.0 Dev Test 1. See release notes for details. For users of the Asymptote toolchains, please test this most recent release to see if the base app has been fixed in that regard.
TeXstudio 2.8.0 has been released a few days ago. Could you please update the package?
One of the major changes seems to be the shift to Qt 5 (previous version used Qt 4). That's why there could be new registry entries. I manually replaced the old version with the new version and it seems to work without a problem. However, I noticed a recently added registry entry which points to the Qt framework:
I'm in the middle of moving right now, so my main computer is packed away until about a week from now so I won't be able to continue my app updates until then. Also, thanks for the reg key updates; I'll take a look at a locally installed version to see if they're left behind there.
No problem, it's still working when you replace it by hand. By the way, TeXstudio 2.8.2 has been released in the meantime. There also seem to be no problem when replacing the old version with the new version, so I think that no changes have to be made to the PortableApps configuration files.
Some more information about the registry entries I reported: it seems that they came from another Qt application (I don't remember the name anymore), Qt 5 which TeXstudio 2.8.x uses doesn't seem to write to the registry (anymore). But it would be better if you could verify this by testing :).
Hey great work of you! The current version works quiet well and I don't have any problems so far. I just wanted to ask, if you may could provide a new version with the latest version of TeXstudio (2.8.2), which would be very nice!
Hey, I am still around but I have no time to actually update any of my apps right now. There is a faint possibility that in a few weeks I will have some down time and see how much of my work has either been obsoleted or taken over by others. Neither of those are bad, by the way. If anyone wants to take over development of this, you can do it. I was able to do these projects because of a glut of time in school, but life has taken that time away in the past (over a) year. Sorry again. And maybe I'll be reappearing soonish.
Thank you for the many apps you have portabalized. I have been using some of the development apps and have updated a few of those for my own use and have plans to update a few more. I will take the message above as blanket approval to share my efforts with others. Open source at its finest is the ability to continue work on projects when other developers become engrossed in other projects and life.
Again, thank you. Live long and prosper. (Or would you prefer, May the force be with you?)

If I replace \Data\texstudio\texstudio.ini by the most recent default one in \App\DefaultData\texstudio\texstudio.ini, I will lose all my settings, which is killing me. How can I migrate all my settings in \Data\texstudio\texstudio.ini to the most recent one?
I was decently sure that TeXStudio automatically updates the INI as needed. The only reason I include an updated INI in each release is for those people who didn't have this installed before. If that's not what you were looking for, I'd suggest opening both files and copying the values one by one, which sounds absolutely tedious if you ask me.
Just a quick status update: I finally got a little more time in my day so I'll be doing a round of updates starting today and going alphabetically as normal.
you're welcome

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\QtProject\OrganizationDefaults\Qt
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\QtProject\OrganizationDefaults
I removed them and they didn't come back, so I'm not sure if TeXstudio created them or another Qt based program.

You should add this line to the default texstudio.ini:
[texmaker]
Update\AutoCheck=false
PA.c released another PDF viewer:
PDF-XChange Viewer Portable
I'm going to be updating this within the next couple of days so thank you for the extra info.

TeXstudio 2.8.4 released!
TeXstudio 2.8.8 has been released this week.
Can you update?
Last seen two month ago. That's not a good sign.

I took over this project. A new Dev Test is available here.
Thank you for taking this project over! One less to worry about
Could anyone, for the students among us, create an integrated package of MiKTeX, TeXStudio and LyX?
Thank You.

Hello,
Version 2.12.0 is out.
Could you please update it?
Thank You.
Thanks for the bump. I'll try to get this updated as soon as I can

What a Perfect Day
Any update on TeXStudio and MiKTeX?
They both have newer versions.
Thank You.
I mentioned it on MiKTeX as well, I was sick between last posting and now, so I got nothing done. I'll be trying to get back into it.
TeXStudio updated to 2.12.x (Latest version is 2.12.2 with 2.12.4 soon to be released).
It added a flag --config DIR to set the directory for Configuration Files which will assist to configure it as a Portable Apps.
Please update this.
Thank You.
