Cliqz Browser

Reading through the Website material, the Cliqz Browser would appear to be built on Firefox, but I could not find specific any information on the software Licence, so the developers' permission would probably be required before a legitimate portable version could be created by any third party.

More importantly, the Cliqz developers already provide an extension for Firefox which appears to have exactly the same capabilities as their full Browser software product, so why not simply use Firefox Portable with the Cliqz extension? Then, you will know that there is little chance of any significant time lag in Firefox being updated, i.e. What would be the added value of a separate "Cliqz Portable"?

Sorry for late answer... and

Sorry for late answer ... and thanks in advance for your feedback!

Knowing 'Mozilla' is involved / currently supporting the Cliqz "Germany based" project (see: https://techcrunch.com/2016/08/23/mozilla-invests-in-germanys-cliqz-a-pr... and https://blog.mozilla.org/press-uk/2016/08/23/mozilla-makes-strategic-inv... for more info. about) and is focused to bring privacy much more than any other feature that's something we must take into consideration ...

BTW, If PortableApps is currently making Firefox & Thunderbird portable and both are owned by Mozilla ... Why not to call for Cliqz, too!

If you feel their auth or an Open SOURCE licence are needed in advance (the Techcrunch article mentioned above confirms: "... and is built on Mozilla’s open source Firefox framework ..." but your are right, we can't know, at least not yet, if it is 100% Open Source license or just a partialli 'Open Source' one).
best.

They're Not Interested

I reached out to CLIQZ and they aren't interested in working portably. If you'd like a portable version of CLIQZ, you'll need to reach out to the publisher directly and try to get them to change their mind.

For now, use Firefox Portable. It's fully portable, works everywhere, supports multiple languages, and can work with the CLIQZ extension as well as tons of others for ad blocking and privacy.

Thank You for The Effort

Hi John,

Thank you for the effort.

Though personally I'd like to see a browser based on WebKit.

By the way, WebKit and Blink now are pretty far apart.
Even their process model is totally different.

Off Topic, Already Have

We already have a WebKit browser: QupZilla. Please keep these additions within their own threads, they're unrelated here. This thread is specifically about CLIQZ.

What's wrong with that?

WebKit and Blink

This thread is about CLIQZ. It has nothing to do with WebKit and Blink. There's no need to keep bringing this up in unrelated threads as happened here.
