GIMP: Crashes when opening EPS

Dear All,
just made a fresh install of the Portable Apps Platform, than installed Ghostscript, after that GIMP.
When trying to open an EPS, GIMP crashes as below.

Problemsignatur:
Problemereignisname: APPCRASH
Anwendungsname: file-ps.exe
Anwendungsversion: 2.8.20.0
Anwendungszeitstempel: ff5e5b51
Fehlermodulname: libgs-8.dll
Fehlermodulversion: 0.0.0.0
Fehlermodulzeitstempel: 3cc93c90
Ausnahmecode: c0000005
Ausnahmeoffset: 000a5217
Betriebsystemversion: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48
Gebietsschema-ID: 1031
Zusatzinformation 1: 0a9e
Zusatzinformation 2: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789
Zusatzinformation 3: 0a9e

I tried as recommended in many forums (analog to the non-portable version):

"""""
So this is the solution:

If you have not already, download and install Ghostscript 64-bit
Copy gsdll64.dll from your Ghostscript bin folder (Eg: C:\Program Files\gs\gs9.07\bin\) to the GIMP bin folder (Eg: C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\bin\)
In the GIMP bin folder first a) Rename the file libgs-8.dll to libgs-8.old, and then b) Rename gsdll64.dll to libgs-8.dll
Restart GIMP and opening EPS images should now work
"""""
but failed.

WIN7x64 SP1, latest PA-Plattform,latest Ghostscript, latest GIMP.

Anyone any ideas?

Thanks for your help in advance,

sosolala

GIMP Portable is 32-bit

GIMP Portable bundles the 32-bit version of GIMP for use across operating systems, so the recommended changes you indicate above likely would not work. I believe those are for if you have the 64-bit version of GIMP installed locally.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

GIMP: Crashes when opening EPS

Dear John,

does this mean GIMP 32-bit version can not open EPS though Ghostscript is properly installed via the The PortableApps.com Platform?

Thanks,

sosolala

Not caused by us

This doesn't appear to be caused by the portabilization - I just tried a clean install of the "normal" versions of GIMP and Ghostscript, on Windows 7 x86, and received the exact same error. I would suggest reporting it to the GIMP folks, since it appears to be a problem on their end, not ours.
