My Thunderbird Calendar no longer want to sync with my online google calendar. For now I have used the Google Calendar plugin but I would prefer to get the original one working.
The location of the calendar is googleapi://email_address/?calendar=email_address/name
I'm assuming this is still acceptable?

That's more a Thunderbird and Google Calendar question than anything specifically portable. Getting Google anything working with third party software is much more difficult than it was a few years ago. I think you need "Provider for Google Calendar" now for Google Calendar to work right. Even then it will be buggy since it is non-standard and not fully open. To get Contacts to sync you need something like gContactSync. To get IMAP working you need to adjust Gmail's settings to allow it on their site as well.

I'm using Provider for Google Calendar at the minute but it's just not the same. I'm also already using gContactSync and using IMAP successfully. It's just my calendar wont let me edit anything as it says it has updates pending from the server but when I hit the sync button nothing happens. It seems a but stuck - for want of a better word!
