Markdown editor?

Are there any free portable apps, either on this site or elsewhere, that support editing in Markdown, and can export/copy the Markdown in HTML within the app itself? Live preview is preferred but not essential. Thanks!

MarkdownPad

I was just looking for this myself, and came across MarkdownPad, which offers a portable version: http://markdownpad.com/faq.html#portable

Maybe if enough people asked nicely, the author might be willing to supply a PortableApps-compliant package?

MarkDown Editor in Portable Apps

Could someone create a PortableApps format for those?

I really think it could be very useful for developers.

MarkDown Editor with MathJaX Support

Any chance to get a MarkDown Editor with MathJaX support in the PortableApps suite?

It is really something crucial this days.

Thank You.

Niche

While it may be crucial for a very small niche of people, it's still a very small niche of people. If someone would like to take the reigns on it, they are welcome, of course.

MarkDown Editor

John,

As a developer, don't you use MarkDown Editor?
It seems the least capable MarkDown Editor out there is included in PortableApps.

I just wish for something more decent.

Thank You.

I don't use markdown

Personally, I don't use markdown. I write HTML.

ReText Portable

Hi,
The ReText developers created a portable version (PortableApps Style) version of ReText:

https://github.com/retext-project/ReTextPortable

ReText is a great lightweight MarkDown Editor.
It would be great to have it on board:

https://github.com/retext-project/retext

Thank You.

Notepad++ has a plugin to

Notepad++ has a plugin to which you may download which supports Markdown editing. It's a simple plugin for simple needs. It allows you to edit the file and view a live version of it in real time. It's the one I use, but for more complex stuff I just go to https://stackedit.io/ which will save your files for you on your next return visit.

ReText

Try ReText by mwayne, it is superior to both.

It really should become the official MarkDown Editor of the suite (The current offering, CureMarkEd is really "weak").

I might check it out but I'm

I might check it out but I'm completely biased when it comes to Notepad++. I love that program perpetually. It's just a wonderful oldschool throwback in comparison to bloated editors like Brackets, Sublime, etc. I will admit though, I've replaced my default Windows Notepad with a variant of the Notepad2 editor (the one with NSIS support) and I'm very pleased with it too.

MathJaX Support

The Notepad++, as far as I know, doesn't have MathJaX / LaTeX support.

So it doesn't offer the featured of fully capable Markdown Editor.
