I installed the Portableapps.com platform on a Windows 10 desktop. When I exit the platform, I am getting a "The following portable apps are still running" error message. But, these apps are already closed, and I don't see them in Windows 10's taskbar and the system tray. When I open the Windows 10's Task manager, I see that the apps are in the "Background processes", and I have to kill them there before I can close Portableapps.com platform.
What's going on and how can I fix that? Thanks.
That's an issue specifically with those apps, not the platform. The platform is just telling you what will prevent you from ejecting once it gets to the eject part. What specific apps and what specific processes are running?
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
What app(s) are you having this issue with?

A couple of things can be happening here. The more common scenario is that the launcher is still trying to clean up everything which is why the process is still showing up in the task manager. I recently made a portable version of the Discord application which was taking anywhere from 3 to 10 seconds to clean up and exit. That was because the launcher was taking so much time moving files around on the system and there was a lot to be moved around. I managed to find a better method using junction support and now it closes in no time at all.
If this is what is happening on your end and you are using the task manager to kill the process than you are closing the portable launcher before it can finish cleaning up. When you relaunch the PAF are you getting a message stating that the launcher wasn't closed properly on the last time it ran and needs to clean up again?
