Resolved: SourceForge outage is causing download issues (Sep 26, 2017)

There is currently an outage at SourceForge that is causing failed downloads via both the web and via the PortableApps.com Platform. SourceForge is aware of the issue and actively working to fix it. You can follow along on their Twitter feed for updates here: https://twitter.com/sfnet_ops

Symptoms: In the browser, you may see constant redirects when attempting to download or an error page. In the PortableApps.com Platform, you will likely see an error that the downloaded file is invalid.

Background: PortableApps.com hosts most of our open source downloads (Firefox, Thunderbird, GIMP, Notepad++) and many online installers (Google Chrome, etc) on SourceForge which provides us free bandwidth and allows direct downloads via our platform. During this outage, many of these downloads will be unavailable. You can still download the PortableApps.com Platform as well as any of our Freeware apps as well as open source apps hosted by the publishers themselves (LibreOffice, etc).

Our apologies for this interruption. We are hopeful it will be fixed soon. If the issue continues much longer, we have contingencies in place we may utilize though they will require additional funds.

Unresolved

As of at least 10AM, it's in static mode again. All redirect and direct downloads fail.

Posting Freeware App Updates

We're currently only posting updates to freeware apps while the SourceForge issues are worked on. Every app you see announced as updated right now can be downloaded without issue as it is hosted on our own download servers.

Resolved at 7:26 PM - 27 Sep 2017

The issues were resolved at 7:26 PM - 27 Sep 2017 as per SourceForge's OPS Twitter account. I've confirmed that admin logins, SFTP uploads, and downloads from our site via the browser as well as downloads via the PortableApps.com Platform are working as expected.

I've uploaded our first batch of open source releases that were delayed (Google Chrome Beta and Dev, Firefox Nightly and Beta x20 language packs as well as source) for release this evening to confirm that new releases are going out as expected.
