Is the PortableApps software update server down?

For the past day or more, attempted app updates (and downloads) of the Q-Dir app are stymied and instead returned the message "The PortableApps.com website is temporarily inaccessible due to maintenance and the app can not be downloaded. Please try again later. (File: Q-DirPortable_6.82.1.paf.exe).

Is maintenance actually occurring at this time? Original download of a different app (Notepad2-mod) seems to have worked well.

(And is this the appropriate forum category in which to ask this question?)

Working Here

It's working here without issue. Any chance you're blocked from downloading where you are?

Unlikely location problem

There's always the chance that something on my end has been putzed up, but unlikely because it has been tried in two completely different locations and on two different computer platforms. And I have just concluded yet a different test - setting up a new PortableApps program/location and successfully downloaded and installed WinDirStat, but received the same error message for Q-Dir.

Mirror issues?

I don't know anything about your download server(s) but if there are varied default and mirror locations for the various apps, perhaps one of those is semi-hosed.

One Freeware Server

The platform is currently only downloading from a single freeware server, so we're using the exact same server. The "maintenance" message is the platform trying to hide an error that used to occur when our site was down for nightly maintenance for 10 minutes during backups years ago. No maintenance is being performed on that server. What you're getting is a "Server Error (503)" error back to the updater component. You're being blocked from downloading. Is there anything you are running that could be modifying the URL being requested by the updater? Are you able to download Q-Dir via this link in your browser?
