Program: Tor browser
License: Open Source
Description: Tor Browser lets you use Tor on Microsoft Windows, Apple MacOS, or GNU/Linux without needing to install any software. It can run off a USB flash drive, comes with a pre-configured web browser to protect your anonymity, and is self-contained (portable).
Website: https://www.torproject.org/
Other: It's a portable version by itself and based on firefox. But I'm looking to launch it from portable apps platform.
Get it from Tor Project, this is the way you should use it. This is the correct and uptodate version there. No big use to have it for download somewhere else, as you will probably get outdated version or incompatioble or what ever.
You can start it from menu as usual.

I know I can get it from official site. All I'm looking for is way to launch it from portable apps platform. To put in simple words i'm looking for an icon that launches tor browser from portable apps platform.
Just install it in your PortableApps folder.
eg. same folder level (siblings) of standard PortableApps apps
https://portableapps.com/support/platform#addingotherapps
If you open up the Tor Browser directory, you'll see a Browser directory. That's the one you should place within your X:\PortableApps directory. The parent directory doesn't really serve a purpose. And the shortcut the installer creates will break as you move PCs anyway. The platform will automatically see Tor Browser's firefox.exe and updater.exe files. You can hide the icon for the updater by right clicking on it.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
The steps were a little different for me. I had to...
I also right-clicked the remaining entry and set the Category to "Internet".
I know this is an old thread, but I arrived at it today after doing a web search. Neither the information in the last post nor the information at the "Adding Other Apps" page previously linked was exactly right. So, I posted this for the next person to land on this thread.

I applied the method Vince Aggrippino described above, except I did not rename the folder from "Browser" to "Tor Browser".
It works like a charm.
