I have been using thunderbird portable for quite a while now. Everytime I switch it to a new flash drive I can easily move my profile folder from the old drive to the new drive and I have all my e-mail accounts, saved e-mails, contacts lists etc...all on the new drive. I do this by copying the profile folder from the old flash drive to the new drive......its found in X:thunderbirdportable\data\profile. I have recently purchased U3 smart drive that has thurnderbird listed on the app launcher. I have looked around on the drive, but I can't figure out how to move all my saved info from my old thunderbird to the new U3 thunderbird. There are several profile folders listed on the U3 drive under thunderbird, but replacing them has not solved my problem. Anybody know how to do this??
Also, does thunderbird portable have a password protection feature??
Thanks.
The bundled version of Thunderbird on Memorex drives was not created by PortableApps.com and is completely unsupported.
If you're using the real Thunderbird for U3 with the PortableApps.com splash screen, it's in a folder like:
?:\System\Apps\FEFECB84-0E05-42d8-B044-F2D0FCFF8C15\Data\profile
It's hidden, so you need to show hidden files.
You may wish to stick with Thunderbird Portable for now, though. The U3 version of Thunderbird is out of date and we may be dropping support for it.

I'm using the U3 thunderbird with a Sandisk drive. I hear the U3 drive isn't and won't be compatible with Vista so I think i will take your advice and just use the regular portable thunderbird. Thanks for the super fast reply. I love your portable products......life was tough without them. We Thunderbird portable have password protection in the future?
Thank U.
Thunderbird supports a Master Password that protects your saved mail passwords (SMTP, POP, IMAP) and security certificates. It doesn't protect your actual email messages if you save them to your drive, though.
