After updating and launching the new version, it refuses to load and tells me that an old version of the Veracrypt driver is already running (which was not the case according to task manager). Reverting to the previous version using a backup resolved the problem. So this one must have some problem.
Please "include system details (OS version, 32 vs 64-bit, install path, new vs upgrade, etc)."
It's working fine here.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Lenovo Ideapad Windows 10 home x64 version 1803 (running on I7-7500U). Veracrypt has been updated regularly on my portableapps install, so this was an update of the previous version (which works - I reverted to it using back up). The install path is E:\Pgm\PortableApps. Of course, when I got the message mentioned in my first post, I rebooted, but got the same result again. And, as I said above, the obsolete driver was not shown by Task Manager.
Thanks for any help
After much fooling about, I finally found the problem: an old non-portable version of veracrypt had not been properly uninstalled and its drivers were systematically loaded at boot time, thereby causing the new portable version to complain. Now it's fixed and works as a breathe... Thanks and sorry for wasting anyone's time.
