Opera crash on startup

I'm having issues with Opera crashing with the error "The application was unable to start correctly 0xc000007b".
Opera was installed using the portableapps menu (installed the paf.exe).
Portable apps version is 15.02 on Win10 x64 1803. Potplayer also gives the same problem.

Any ideas?

Other Apps

Do other apps with our launchers (ExamplePortable.exe) work?

No they don't. Its really odd

No they don't. Its really odd. I tried installing a few more using the "Get more apps" option and they don't work as well. I haven't ran portable apps in a while so I didn't notice this issue until recently when potplayer didn't work.

Does the portableapps platform and the portable apps use the windows registry or any config/ini files elsewhere? Can I just delete the portableapps dir to uninstall the platform and all the installed portable apps?

DEP

Did you manually enable Data Execution Protection in your security settings? This will prevent NSIS 2-based EXEs from running (launchers based on the PA.c Launcher). If unsure, you can try installing Firefox Portable and see if that works. It uses a custom NSIS 3-based launcher.

It's also possible your security settings prohibit some things from running, which can cause it. Or that you don't have a working TEMP directory, but the PA.c Platform checks for that as long as you start it with Start.exe.

It's also worth looking into the file permissions on the apps.

I haven't changed the DEP

I haven't changed the DEP setting from the default (Windows programs only). I haven't made any changes to the security settings or installed new security apps. Don't think file permissions are the problem.

Downloading opera from the official site and installing it using the standalone option works without any issues. And did the same thing with Sumatra downloaded from the official website. I think all the paf.exe's are not working for some reason. I tried installing the 2017 VC++ redistributable and tried loggin in and running portableapps as admin and it hasn't helped.

Able To Install?

Please verify whether Firefox Portable runs on your machine. And you're saying the apps are installing, which means that NSIS 3-based installers are working on your machine as the PA.c Installer is NSIS 3-based.

Also, have you tried rebooting?
