I upgraded to the latest portable version of gimp 2.10.8 yesterday. However the program will not start at all. i click on the start menu item ( or even execute the exec directly ) and nothing happens. i even did a fresh install and still nothing. 2.10.6 works ok i still have it on another usb.

windows 10, 64bit. i did an upgrade didn't work i then uninstalled and did a fresh install. still not working. no messages no visible action at all in fact.
i reinstalled gimp 2.10.6 and that's working fine. i'll try 2.10.8 in the future. I have the complete install of it working fine on my laptop at home.
Downloaded Portable apps exe manully from portable apps web site and found problem in installer not extracting.dll file, manually extracted portable app .exe with 7 zip all files extracted successfully, moved extraction to portables apps directory now program works perfectly.
Windows 8.1 x32 Custom PE Build
Same problem I am facing in Windows 10 64 Bit Creator Update. I uninstalled official GIMP version and installed GIMP installer provided by Portableapps, but not starting/working. When I run "troubleshoot compatibility, then sometimes an error shows "fatel error, exception handled" for few seconds, also GIMP debug tool run for few seconds but not launching. I also manually extracted by 7-zip but problem is still present.
You could be having issue with an additional bug in the 64bit version Gimp under Win10 but I have had no problems with the 32bit edition when extracting it manually with 7zip, forgot to mention in my post I using Windows 8.1 32bit.
