Hello,
I was wondering whether there is a way of installing the Portableapps platform temporarily on my work computer, from the cloud, in a way which would offer privacy akin to that offered by using a usb-stick?
I do not want to download the Portableapps from the cloud onto my work computer, because it is not private. I only wish to use the apps on a temporary basis, and to be able to leave no trace after I finish.
With an usb-stick, you just plug it in and take it out when you finish, nothing is left on the computer.
Unfortunately, I am not allowed to bring memory sticks or usb-sticks at work.
Is there a solution for me?
Thanks!

Unfortunately, the apps need to reside on the local PC to be runnable. You could sync everything down, use it, allow it to sync back, then disconnect Google Drive (sign out, uninstall, or deselect sharing that folder) and then delete the files locally with something like Eraser Portable.
There were some 3rd party apps that would let you treat an FTP server as a drive letter but I think they require admin to install and may not be fast enough to handle portable apps.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
I see
Thanks anyway, I will try to do what you suggested.
Please bear in mind, that portable as described in the PA.c guidelines does not automatically mean stealth in a way that its use cannot be tracked down. If you are not allowed to use other programs than the installed on your work computer, a use of portable apps might be considered a breach of some guidelines.
Just because you delete the files you created, does not mean, an admin could not find out, what programs you started.
