WhatsApp a possible portable app in the future

Based on the recommendation of a friend I have installed before a few hours the Messenger "WhatsApp" on my Android smartphone Samsung Galaxy S III. And I'm really impressed greatly. Although this messenger however has some vulnerabilities, he offers some outstanding features.

So you can directly from the Messenger out perform the following actions:

  • Record and send a voice message, a video or a picture
  • Choose and send a picture from the internal storage of the smartphone
  • Send your own current location
  • Send of informations regarding saved contacts on your smartphone

Of course this is only an illustrative list of some particularly interesting features, because WhatsApp also offers a whole lot more possibilities. Unfortunately, WhatsApp is currently only available for mobile operating systems like Android, Apple iOS, BlackBerry OS, Symbian, Windows Phone 7 and 8 etc. But I did read, that the developers are working on a version for the Windows desktop. Therefore it would be a real asset, if we sometime here might offer a portable version.

Later Discussion

As a Windows version is only a future possibility, there's not much call to discuss this until one is available.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

I don't understand why this

I don't understand why this application is so big, even that is 103MB zipped and 245MB unzipped. That's a strange application for been so big. I could make a portable app no problem, however not at this size. I don't class this as been a portable app at all!
