I recently got the prompt to update my GIMP Portable Apps, so I assume it was the release version. I am getting the GIMP Portable unable to start due to gimp-2.10.exe unable to be found message. After several tries deleted the install and retried using the PAF and the installer from the Portable Apps platform and still get the gimp-2.10.exe unable to be found message.
system details:
OS version: Windows 10
64-bit
Type of Install: Upgrade
install path - C:\Users\Ray\Dropbox\portable apps 2\PortableApps\GIMPPortable
\app\bin\gimp\ folder is empty. Where can I find a copy of gimp-2.10.exe? If I find one, can I just plook it in the folder and get back to work?
Please delete and do a fresh install and check to ensure that things are where they should be before running. There should be a gimp and gimp64 folder before you run it. And a gimp and gimp32 folder afterwards.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
I reinstalled several times previously, from .paf and through the platform, with the same result. But I tried one more time.
After reinstalling again, I checked and did see the gimp and the gmip64 folder. I then tried to launch through the platform and got the unable to find gimp-2.10.exe error. I had not seen the gimp-2.10.exe previously but was able to locate it in the C:\Users\Ray\Dropbox\portable apps 2\PortableApps\GIMPPortable\App\gimp64\bin folder. I double clicked and was able launch successfully.
Do I need to modify a path somewhere so that it launches through the platform?
