This bug has been merged with Bug 60496
Hallo, my problem is that I chance a PC (with my USB-Stick with firefox portable) the addon icons in the symbol bar disappear. My 'workaround' is: dis- and than be able to work the addon again ... Until next change the PC ...
Before v67.x FF portable runs proper!
I don't known a solution.

At first I thought you were having the issue of extensions failing. The addons' icons I specifically tested were working in 67.0.2 and a result of a different change Mozilla made. What specific extensions are failing for you now? What is the full install path? What version of Windows and 32-bit or 64-bit?

O.K. I submit now with my small English knowledge …
My home system is Win10 64bit – in the public library Win 7 64bit. I use FF portable 68.0.2 on a USB-Stick. The path on stick: “x:\Programme\Internet\FirefoxPortable\Data\profile” I think here are the problem files.
The basic of the error image: ALL addons are marked in the list as ‘active' on the „Manage Expansions-Site“.
To get follow addons-icon in symbol panel again: Adblock Plus, Ghostery, Mailvelope, NoScript, uBlock Origin … all important addons … I have to press no active, than active again, than I can use the addons in FF-Browser.
This error image is also in a fresh and actual installation from your download site.
The error file addonStartup.json.lz4 is 6KB large, tomorrow after moving to another PC .... ?
I can confirm this is now broken in 68. It was working in a previous release as I'd specifically tested it. It doesn't seem to properly recreate the file anymore. I'm investigating the weird lz4 format Mozilla uses.
Merging with the other bug as it is an expansion of the issue.
